At Something Different Wholesale, we’ve always been passionate about doing things better - for the planet, and for our customers. That’s why we’ve made a small but mighty change that’s already creating a big impact behind the scenes (and inside your parcels!).

What’s Changed?

You might have noticed your packaging filler looks a little different lately. That’s because we’re now shredding and reusing the cardboard from our incoming deliveries to pack outgoing orders. Instead of sending that material to landfill or buying new filler, we’re giving it a second life - right inside your box.

Not only does this help protect your items during transit, it’s also a major step in reducing unnecessary waste.

Why It Matters

This change is part of our wider commitment to sustainability and supports new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) guidelines, which encourage businesses like ours to take more responsibility for the packaging we produce.

And the results so far?
📦 28.5 tonnes of packaging waste saved each year
🌍 85,000 kg of CO₂e emissions avoided
🌳 That’s the same carbon saving as planting over 1,400 trees

♻️ Recycling tip: Rules vary across the UK, so check your local council’s website. Many accept shredded cardboard if it’s contained inside another cardboard box.
