Our Story

At Something Different Wholesale, we design, develop and distribute quality giftware and homeware to retailers of all sizes across the UK, Europe, and internationally.

Our talented in-house creative team produce hundreds of new products each year - all exclusive to Something Different. We work with a diverse customer base, including independent gift shops, online retailers, large buying groups, and international distributors.

The business was founded by our CEO, Jane Wallace-Jones, who began trading at local car boot sales in 1990. With a sharp eye for unique products and a passion for retail, Jane soon expanded into daily markets, managing several units across South Wales.

In 1999, Jane took the leap into wholesale by securing a 5,000 square foot warehouse in Baglan, South Wales. The concept was simple: buy in bulk from importers and manufacturers, store it locally, and supply both her market stalls and local customers through a cash-and-carry model. That same year, Something Different became the first ecommerce business of its kind, launching a website that quickly accelerated growth.

By 2005, we began importing directly from international suppliers to source distinctive and culturally inspired giftware. In 2012, we took creative control of our range, designing over 80% of our own products and launching new brands to reflect our unique vision.

Today, Something Different Wholesale is proud to be one of the largest giftware importers in the UK, offering over 4,000 products and serving more than 25,000 customers around the world.
