At Something Different, we are passionate about working to make a positive, sustainable impact on the planet. Our commitment to sustainability is now more important than ever, and it’s important for us as a business to continuously look for ways to develop our green strategies.

The theme for Earth Day on 22nd April 2023 is Take Action. Be part of a green revolution’. So, what do we do to help our planet?

Solar Panels

Solar Panels

Our most recent green project is well underway with our investment in solar energy, which has kickstarted our journey to become an energy-efficient organisation. Our warehouses are now powered by the electricity generated by 1000+ solar panels! Passionate about working to make a positive, sustainable impact on the planet, our solar investment will be completed by summer 2023.

Product Packaging

Hex Wrap

We use Eco Hex wrapping paper as an alternative to plastic bubble wrap. Hex wrap is 100% recyclable and re-usable! The hexagon cells interlock together to secure our wide range of products, and due to its unique design, it does not require tape or glue to seal the package.

Bee packaging

Using eco-friendly packaging helps to reduce carbon footprint and reduce natural resource waste. The packaging of our products no longer includes plastic and are now made from 100% fully recyclable cardboard. Here’s an example of how we improved our Queen Bee Ceramic Mug and Coaster Set.

Eco-friendly Products

FSC products

We understand how important our role is in bringing environmentally responsible products into the marketplace. We continue to expand our eco-friendly ranges every season and firmly believe that functional products can be stylish while still being kind to the earth. Most of our animal and insect houses are Forest Stewardship Council-approved and are made using 100% FSC certified wood from well managed forests and recycled sources. Keep an eye out for the FSC logo on our product images!

Ethically sourced products

We ethically source our windchimes, suncatchers and dreamcatchers from our supplier in Bali, Indonesia. Our supplier has been trading ethically since 1985, and pride themselves in being able to supply innovative and high quality products. We have developed a fantastic relationship with our supplier and since 2015, we have developed over 300 exclusive items with them!
