How our Paws and Claws range is helping the community.

Here at Something Different Wholesale, we’ve always been passionate about helping others and philanthropy is very much part of our company ethos. This passion has led to us helping several different charities over the years.

We support charities here in the UK and also the rest of the world too. Each charity faces different challenges, yet they are all united in trying to improve the lives of others. Some of the charities we support include Tenovus Cancer Care and Mayan Families based in Guatemala, which aims to tackle issues such as poverty and malnutrition.

In 2016 our company experienced record growth and it was important to us to give something back and continue to make a positive difference to the lives of others.

Already supporting 5 different charities, we decided to select a sixth charity to work with based here in our local community in Swansea. This charity was the RSPCA Llys Nini Animal Shelter which has rescued and rehomed over 14,500 cats and dogs since 1995.

Despite being part of the RSPCA, Llys Nini doesn’t receive any automatic funding and the centre regularly carries out fundraising activities so that they continue with their good work of looking after animals and helping them to find their forever homes.

Here at Something Different, whilst designing our Paws and Claws collection, we had a lightbulb moment. We could use this collection which is designed for people who are passionate about their pets, to drive awareness and fundraise for Llys Nini.

We launched the Paws and Claws collection on our website in November 2017 and for every item sold, we’ve been donating 20p to Llys Nini and we’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response we’ve had about the collection and the progressive impact it’s making.

Later this year we plan to visit the Llys Nini shelter to present a cheque with the total amount raised to date, so keep your eyes peeled for that number – after all you as our customers have been the driving force for achieving it!
